Day Four Feng Shui Life Make-Over
by Deborah Redfern, Feng Shui Studies
What is abundance?
To me, abundance is being fully present in my life. When I notice myself being in that state of total presence, nothing else exists – no regrets, no sadness for what is (or isn’t), no reserve. Expressed in this way, I experience full abundance at dance class, and rehearsals and performances with my choir, sometimes when I am doing art (although I can begin ‘thinking’ when I do art — so perhaps doing art when I am ‘dreamy’.
Of course within the different areas of my life, my experience of abundance will be slightly different. How do I experience abundance in money and finances? How about abundance in my relationships? Or abundance in creativity? Being present will most certainly be part of my definition, but to ask the question what does abundance look in each area of my life is to invite refinement. Or to put it another way, how can I be fully present in my life concerning my relationships? What are the essential ingredients? What must I give and what do I hope to receive? How do I life a life of abundance?
When you think of abundance in these terms you will find that it quickly surpasses the material and goes towards essential values, and in doing feng shui (working with your Intentions) knowing and practicing your essential values is an enormous advantage.
Day Four Exercise
What does abundance mean to YOU? Using the bagua map, what does abundance mean in each of the following areas:
-
Family Heritage
-
Abundance and Prosperity
-
Fame and Reputation
-
Love and Relationships
-
Creativity
-
Helpful People and Guidance
-
Career
-
Self Knowledge and Wisdom
-
Health
What do you need to give of yourself to experience abundance in each of these areas? What do you need from others to experience abundance in each of these areas? Are there any other areas of life you would add?
And finally, does a central theme, or essential values (such as being fully present in your life) emerge as you think about each of these questions?
