There is a large part of feng shui that is purely action-oriented. Yet at some point we need to stop doing and listen. We need to
- assess the energy
- take stock of what has changed
- know how your home or office feels
and notice what is happening in your life. Are the shifts where you want them to be? Has what you set out to do when you began this process changed or stayed the same?
Exercise
Today, find some time to listen.
Even though today’s exercise sounds simple, it may not be easy; It isn’t easy to empty your mind and listen. The pace of life is such that that when we don’t have something that needs doing, we often feel a need to find something to do – to fill the void. It is so easy to drawn into the hectic activity of life and this also causes us to get drawn into overactive thoughts, judgments and evaluations. We often feel we *should* be doing something! This applies to thoughts as well — our mind (ego) finds something to stress and worry about.
There are different ways of listening: some people sit in quiet meditation, others walk, do art, listening or play music. Some people enter into private ‘conversations’ with their house, travelling around the different rooms either mentally or physically, tuning in and asking questions, waiting for the answers. Many people believe the universe communicates with us and sends us messages though signs, coincidences, synchronicity and premonitions.
I can’t tell you how to tune in, just that it is important and valuable to do so — to stop making changes and allow some time to listen, to reflect on where you are in your life. I am looking forward to hearing how things are going for you, as well as any insights you are having.
